“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”
~ Maria Robinson
As we look back over the past year in retrospect the easiest thing to do might be to ruminate in the “coulda, woulda, shoulda” syndrome. Falling into that trap may be the most counter-productive activity to engage in. Concentrating on what you don’t want or what could have been more often than not only leads to more of the same! The initial quote in this post is one of my favorites for that reason because it reminds us that our destiny is up to us and we write the narrative of our destiny on a daily basis starting with our thoughts.
The following is an excerpt from one of my favorite readings, “As A Man Thinketh” by James Allen.
“Man is buffeted by circumstances so long as he believes himself to be the creature of outside conditions, but when he realizes that he is a creative power, and that he may command the hidden soil and seeds of his being out of which circumstances grow; he then becomes the rightful master of himself.”
“As A Man Thinketh” can be downloaded, free of charge from many sources. Here is just one, click here for the free download. You’ll only have to give up an e-mail address and then confirm it. There will of course be more offers but you’re not obligated to accept or buy anything else.
If you’ve never created a list of goals now is a great time to start. You can find many sources online for goal setting and creating plans to achieve them. The most important activity is to get started and then remember that a goal is just a dream without an action plan!
Live long and prosper baby!
