“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”

~ Maria Robinson

As we look back over the past year in retrospect the easiest thing to do might be to ruminate in the “coulda, woulda, shoulda” syndrome. Falling into that trap may be the most counter-productive activity to engage in. Continue reading

A National Treasure

Thomas Sowell

Thomas Sowell, in my mind,  should be given the status of National Treasure. That may sound a little grandiose so I suppose that I  have a confession to make. If great thinkers, philosophers, and such had groupies, I’d probably be a Thomas Sowell groupie – well at least in a “man crush” kind of way. Continue reading

American Exceptionalism

Stars and Stripes“I wave the American flag. Do you know a better flag to wave? Sure, I love my country with all her faults. I’m not ashamed of that, never have been, never will be.”

~ John Wayne

Coming out of a self imposed post election exile as it relates to my blog, I can think of no better theme to write about than American Exceptionalism, hence the title of my post. Continue reading

Martin Luther King, Jr. and The Content of Character

Martin Luther King Jr

“…they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”
-Martin Luther King, Jr.

Oh but if this were only true…

A Few Last Thoughts Before You Vote

The Media Doesn’t Care

In Benghazi they were thrice denied support and then four Americans died knowing they had been abandoned. The media doesn’t want this to be a story and they are complicit in the cover-up. The so-called “watchdogs of democracy” are silent because they are so vested in the re-election of the man who bears the title “Commander in Chief” they simply don’t think it’s consequential that four Americans died.

Are We Voting For Revenge or Love of Country!?

Vote 2012

What is your reason for voting?

President Obama urged his supporters to vote for revenge a day or so ago. Really Mr. President?!

I’ve already voted but I can assure you I voted for love of country and a grave concern for the future of our country and the legacy handed down to our children and children’s children.

Four More Years – Really?!

Vote 2012

Does anyone really want 4 more years like the last four with President Barack Obama? If you think the last 4 years were unacceptable just imagine what the next 4 would be like. I’d venture to say that the next 4 years would be like the last 4 on steroids!

Take a look at this YouTube clip and see if you agree.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Releases New Election Video!

Here’s a powerful video from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce released just a week ago. Stressed is driving economic growth  through limited government, lower taxes, free markets and allowing success instead of punishing it.

Election day is just 13 days away! So make sure you vote and if possible vote early!

Andrew Breitbart, Gone Too Soon…

Although sadly passing on earlier this year he still inspires and in this video  carries a powerful message. If you have never been exposed to Andrew Breitbart before this is an excellent introduction to the man, his passion for the truth and the work he dedicated his life to. He inspires the patriot in myself and in many of us.

I especially like this starting from about the 12:45 mark onward. He ends the address with a great resounding forte. Sad, gone too soon…

Thanks “Pitchfork Patriots” for the article that inspired this post.

“But I Want It Now – Give Me The Loan!” A not so funny parody/commentary on our national debt

Right up front I apologize for the length of this post but believe it is too timely not to share. I initially put this together in August of 2011 so had to adjust some of the numbers. At the time I should have documented my sources but remember that credit goes to Peter Schiff, Thomas Sowell (see feed on the right) and an anonymous blog poster for much of the content. I tied it all together in hopes of using it some day and just rediscovered it this morning.

In a this time of great uncertainty we can be perfectly sure of a few things. Continue reading
